아브람이 구십구 세 때에 여호와께서 아브람에게 나타나서 그에게 이르시되
나는 전능한 하나님이라 너는 내 앞에서 행하여 완전하라 (창 17:1)
히브리어 원문에는 “나는 엘샤다이다”라고 하셨습니다.
엘샤다이는 문자 그대로 해석하면, “충분함 그 이상의 하나님(more than enough)”
“모든 것에 충분하신 분(All-Sufficient One)”이라는 뜻입니다.
하나님은 “흔들어서 차고 넘치도록 주시는 분”이십니다.
구약은 샤다이 하나님,
차고 넘치도록 주시는 하나님이라고 계시하십니다.
노예로 있던 이스라엘 백성들을 애굽에서 이끌어 내실 때,
바로의 병사들은 그들을 다시 붙잡으려고 그들을 추격합니다.
그때 이스라엘 백성들은 광야와 산 사이에 있었고,
그들 앞에는 홍해가...
이스라엘은 "엘샤다이" 를 기억하며
차고 넘치도록 주시는 하나님을 노래했습니다.
"엘샤다이, 엘샤댜이..."
그러자 엘샤다이는 바다 속으로 길을 내셨습니다!
깊은 물이 바다 한가운데서 엉기도록 명하셨습니다(출 15:8)
창세기에서 빛을 명하시듯
엘샤다이는 물을 얼려 버리셨습니다.
양쪽에 물들이 벽처럼 쌓이고 쌓이고 또 쌓이고...
하나님의 백성 이스라엘,
엘샤다이가 내신 길을 따라서 바다 속을 걸었습니다.
차고 넘치도록 주시는 분, 엘샤다이-.
엘샤다이, 엘샤다이
엘샤다이는 나의 전능자이십니다.
엘샤다이를 붙잡고 마지막 끝까지
엘샤다이가 그 능력을 마음껏 드러내시도록
나를 드리는 삶이 되렵니다.
